"More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. 11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. 12 Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults."
Psalm 19:10-12

"Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer."
Psalm 19:13-14

3 Essential Disciplines In Your Time WIth God

(1)MAINTAIN a Daily Time in the Word

    • JOSHUA 1:8

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

      • The prepared heart
      • The right time
      • The best place
      • The committed plan

      Pastor Zack Schlegel

(2) MEMORIZE Scripture for Everyday Challenges

    • PSALM 119:9-11, NKJV

9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. 10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

      • Memorize phrase by phrase
      • Memorize day by day
      • Memorize temptation by temptation

      (both stop and go verses)

(3) MAKE Prayer your Day-to-day Pattern

    • LUKE 18:1, 6-8

1 And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart… 6 And the Lord said, …7 will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily.

    • Develop a specific plan (Mk. 1:35)
    • Free yourself from distractions (Mk. 1:35)
    • See prayer as more than requests (Mt. 6:9-13)
    • Mastering the art of prayer, like any art, will take time, and the amount of time we allocate to it will be the true measure of our conception of its importance.” Oswald Sanders
