YOUR FAITH
Your faith should OVERCOME YOUR FEAR (1:10), and ATTEMPT THINGS THAT ARE IMPOSSIBLE without God (1:8,17)
ONLY GOD CAN DO THE IMPOSSIBLE
DANIEL 2:1-3
In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, nebuchadnezar had dream; his spirit was troubled, and his sleep left him. Then the king commanded that the magicians, the enchanters, the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans be summoned to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king. And the king said to them, "I had a dream, and my spirit is troubled to know the dream."
DANIEL 2:1-3
Then the Chaldeans said to the king in Aramaic, "O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation." The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, "The word from me is firm: if you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be torn limb from limb, and your houses shall be laid in ruins.
WHEN THINGS ARE IMPOSSIBLE
1. Impossible tasks are meant to reveal our inabilities.
- Our inabilities surface fear - We're afraid of circumstances we can't control (2:1, 10-11).
- Our inabilities reveal a prideful spirit - We're sure we could do it, if we only had a little help (2:7).
- Our inabilities bring about frustration - We're prone to blame others for what we can't do (2:12).
2. Impossible tasks are meant to drive us to God
- Don't panic - gather date so that you might pray (2:14-16).
- Take steps of faith - It's not faith if you can see the outcome (2:16).
- Invite the prayer support of others - remember you need God AND others (2:17).
3. Impossible tasks are accomplished by God.
- He is all wise (2:20)
- He is all powerful (2:20)
- He is in control (2:21)
- He is a giver (2:22-23)
- He alone makes impossibilities possibilities (2:24)
